EvCC’s plans for their old gymnasium property required a teardown next to Providence Hospital in Everett. Three very large Rhododendron trees, in excess of 25’ tall and nearly 30’ wide, were slated for demolition. Sponsored by staff members from the college, funds were made available to move the trees. Crews from Big Trees, Inc. carefully treated, dug and extracted the trees next to the building. The trees, weighing in excess of 12k lbs including the rootballs, were driven several blocks very slowly (with the proper permits) to the main campus. All (3) trees are now thriving in their new home among a larger tree canopy of mature trees. Everyone’s looking forward to seeing the big bloom on these trees again next year.
“These trees were special and a part of EvCC’s campus for many years. The crew from Big Trees did and excellent job, they look great now resting at the main campus.”
